Very subtle chocolate flavor and a wonderful fruity aroma, which don't sound like they go together very well but in this tea do, and excellently.

I absolutely love this tea! There is a great balance between the smooth darkness of the black tea and the fruity aroma of the longan. Although I described the flavor as "fruity," that adjective really doesn't do this tea justice. It does have some chocolaty overtones as well as a wonderful red wine finish. The liquor-like flavor lingers on your palate a bit longer than the tea flavors, but don't overpower the tea itself. This is the perfect tea, full and bright enough to be a breakfast tea, without fatiguing the palate so that it can be frequently drunk without difficulty. It is excellent after dinner alone or with dessert-- it complements chocolate and berry dishes exceedingly well.

This tea is a long time favorite with a tone of cocoa that is mellowed by a touch of cream. It is a true treat mid-afternoon when I need something sumptious and can replace dessert after an elegant meal.
