Some hoijcha is overroaster or too thin, Mighty Leaf's is the absolute best. Never acrid or cloying even if you leave the leaves in too long... It's not an extremely high caffeine tea so I can have 2-3 cups in the morning and not suffer from insomnia.

I ordered this tea mostly because I decided to drink 2 cups of green tea per day, but I expected more in terms of taste. The smell of the leaves is not pleasant like that of most other Mighty Leaf teas, and the flavor is leafy; a little too plant-like for my taste.

Much green tea comes from places that use pesticide with impunity. What we love about this tea is that it's organic and has the robust authentic green tea flavor we enjoy in Japanese restaurants we frequent where we KNOW they don't use organic tea.

This tea is the best, I now buy the boxes of 50. It is a green teat without the bitterness, it is richer, smoother, and has little caffeine. It is a great tea to have in the morning in place of a highly caffeinated black tea. Great with a little sugar and some milk.

I drink this tea throughout the day. In the afternoon i decaffeinate it by infusing for 45 seconds, draining the water and then re-infusing for 3 minutes. Some tea loses flavor after being decaffeinated this way, but this tea holds its flavor very well.

This is my favorite tea by far. You will never go back to supermarket green tea after this. I brew a pot a couple times a day, and any amount I don't drink hot gets thrown into a container so I can ice it later. One tip: try to follow the instruction to use hot but not boiling water, as this is definitely one of those teas where the taste is significantly better that way.

I tasted wonderful green teas during several trips to Japan, and was so disappointed with green tea I commonly found available in the US. This Hojicha is exquisite!! I drink it daily. Everywhere we turn the health advantages of green tea are spelled out for us. My problem is that I didn't like any green tea I tasted, and believe me, I tasted a lot of them.
One day, while traveling, I ran across this tea in an airport coffee shop. It was so dramatically delicious from any other that I'd tasted that I kept the tag from the tea bag until I could locate it for home use. Now I order it by the box load - 100 teabags at a time. I can honestly say that this is the ONLY green tea I've found that I enjoy.

My very health concious sister-in-law told me that most of the green tea we buy is from countries that use mad amounts of pesticide and that you should always buy organic green tea. This tea doesn't mask the green tea behind citrus, or any other flavor so you get the pungent green tea served in most of the Japanese restaurants I frequent -- it tastes authentic.

This tea has a very unique flavor that may take getting used to. My husband doesn't like it but it's my favorite flavor. The flavor is rich, smoky, and a little nutty. It feels substantial, not thin. It picks me up, so I like drinking it in the morning and late afternoon.
